Operating Licence for the TR-2 Research Reactor
Following the review and assessment of the application submitted by the Turkish Energy, Nuclear and Mineral Research Agency, an Operating Licence for the TR-2 Research Reactor, located at the Istanbul Campus of the Nuclear Energy Research Institute, was granted by Decision No. 2026-34/3 of the Nuclear Regulatory Board, dated 6 August 2026.
Under the Operating Licence, the Turkish Energy, Nuclear and Mineral Research Agency has been authorized to carry out activities related to the transition to operation of the TR-2 Research Reactor, which has a thermal power of 5 MW.
