Eti Maden Beylikova Facility
Authorization of Nuclear Facilities
Mining activities are planned to be carried out in the Kızılcaören neighborhood of Eskişehir Province, Sivrihisar and Beylikova Districts, within the Beylikova Fluorite, Barite and Rare Earth Elements by the Eti Mining Operations General Directorate (Eti Maden İşletmeleri Genel Müdürlüğü).
The activity that is the subject of the project and the mining operation license numbered S:1075/İR:3360 (ER:1147546) and the extraction of the ore identified in the area defined in the additional license area (ER:3376319) by open pit mining, ore enrichment, and hydrometallurgy processes are applied to rare earth elements, barite from the ore it is aimed to produce fluorite and thorium as by-product. The long-term storage facility for radioactive process wastes and thorium compounds to be released during production is within the scope of the activity.
Rare earth elements, barite, and fluorite, and in addition the thorium compound to be produced as a result of the mentioned mining and hydrometallurgical operations to be carried out by the Beylikova Fluorite, Barite, and Rare Earth Elements Operations Directorate is within the scope of nuclear material.

Limited work permit and construction license is granted for the Eskişehir-Beylikova Complex Ore (Barite, Fluorite, Rare Earth Elements, Thorium) Quarry, Ore Preparation and Enrichment and Storage Facility to the General Directorate of Eti Maden, by the decision number 2023-8/5-1 of Nuclear Regulatory Board on January 26th, 2023.

General Directorate of Eti Maden applied for limited work permit and construction license for the Eskişehir-Beylikova Complex Ore (Barite, Fluorite, Rare Earth Elements, Thorium) Quarry, Ore Preparation and Enrichment and Storage Facility.

Site license is granted for the Eskişehir-Beylikova Complex Ore (Barite, Fluorite, Rare Earth Elements, Thorium) Quarry, Ore Preparation and Enrichment and Storage Facility to the General Directorate of Eti Maden (Owner), by the decision number 2022-2/2-1 of Nuclear Regulatory Board on January 13rd, 2022.

The Owner re-submitted the Updated Site Report documents according to the assessment of NDK.

NDK review and assessment regarding site license application documents is submitted to the Owner.

The Owner applied for a site license in accordance with Article 9 of the Decree on Licensing of Nuclear Installations.
September 19th, 2019
With the decision of the Nuclear Regulatory Board dated September 19th, 2019 and numbered 2019-49/1, General Directorate of Eti Maden was recognized as the Owner and the decision was notified to the Owner.
