NDK Delegation Participated in the 67th General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)

NDK Delegation attended the 67th General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) held in Vienna on 25-29 September 2023.

This year, -as a member of IAEA- 177 countries of the IAEA and 2835 participants attended the General Conference held annually by the IAEA.

The General Conference begins with the national declarations of the member countries, continues with bilateral meetings, and numerous side events are organized within the scope of the Conference. Officials from the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, TENMAK and NÜTED also attended the General Conference. The National Declaration of our Country was presented by Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Mr. Dr. Alparslan BAYRAKTAR via video conference.

During the conference, the NDK delegation held inter-delegation meetings with the nuclear regulatory bodies of many member countries and some international organizations. Within this framework, in the meetings held with nuclear regulatory officials from Republic of Korea, Hungary, the People's Republic of China, the Russian Federation, the United Arab Emirates, Belarus, as well as officials from European Commission and the IAEA, ideas on nuclear regulatory approaches were exchanged and areas of cooperation were discussed. Additionally, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed with the South Korean Nuclear Regulatory Authority in the field of nuclear regulation.
