Türkiye’s first National Report was successfully presented within the scope of the Eighth Review Meeting of the Joint Convention, held from 17 to 28 March 2025.
The delegation from the Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NDK) participated in the Eighth Review Meeting of the Joint Convention, organized by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and held in Vienna from 17 to 28 March 2025.
During these review meetings, organized every three years, national reports prepared by the Contracting Parties on the fulfillment of obligations under the Convention are presented and discussed. In this context, more than 1,000 delegates from 77 countries attended the Eighth Review Meeting, where the national reports of the Contracting Parties were discussed in detail.
Within the scope of the Eighth Review Meeting, our first National Report, prepared under NDK coordination with contributions from the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources (ETKB), the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD), the Turkish Energy, Nuclear and Mineral Research Agency (TENMAK), Istanbul Technical University (İTÜ), the Turkish Nuclear Energy Company (TÜNAŞ), and Akkuyu Nuclear JSC. (ANAŞ), was successfully presented and the questions addressed to our country were responded.
With the Convention entering into force for Türkiye on 21 May 2023, our country has become a party to all major conventions in the nuclear field.
